I love, love, love (did I mention love) this artist's work and am slowly adding pieces of her art to my bead stash. I will make them up into necklaces, but not sure I will be able to part with them when the time comes. This unique piece (each piece is unique) has a whimsical quality to it with a lovely stone set in the folds of the "leaves." Beautiful, unique, feminine, and "artsy" all in one fell swoop. To say McRocks makes jewelry is an understatement. That she makes fantastically mystical tokens, shamanesque, ancient, timeless, magical talismans and amulets is true. But what she really makes is Art. She's a whirlwind and her output is huge. A sorceress, she travels back to ancient times and taps into ancient magic. Her work is never forced, things like composition were birth gifts and her creations look final and perfect. The little of her work that I've been privileged to have also has great power that's impossible to convey in photos. When you hold an actual piece you feel that power you didn't fully know existed. Know what that means? You have to acquire one of her pieces! I encourage you to buy any one of them, you won't be disappointed! I am happy to have met this whirlwind sorceress of power, if even from a distance!

Well this is sentimental and sweet and something that I could have worn 500 years ago, if I were alive back then and I probably was as someone else, crying out for jewelry. Okay, this is like when they put chocolate and coffee together for the first time and the tribe all went crazy around a camp fire.

The Full Story
I'm a self taught jeweler, everything from a viking knit to silversmithing, gold work, ceramics, polymers, every technique was learned with videos, books, pages, reading and researching, exploring and playing.
I started, hum... Long time ago, -longer than would be polite for a lady to say, hahahaha- I was a competitive athlete, bodybuilder, and finding jewelry with a wild unique side was impossible so I decided to learn and make my own, and became a passion, a crazy love, a voraginous emotion... People started asking for some, wanted to pay me, and then designed for places with a wilder edge, started selling small things, mixed beads -contracts tied me to not to be able to sell finished pieces, and when the contracts expired were renewed with one condition: To be able to design for Everyone, to be able to offer to other people the same that would cost too much to be reasonable, so we all could have "pretty things". Then Etsy happened, with it met more people, this market, the blog and even when I'm Almost a hermit and tons have no idea who is behind their jewelry, I opened myself a Little to the world.
Some of my work had been in a theater, some in musicals, some are worn by artists you might know, but in here I experiment, this is my playground, my world, and in here you will find the most unusual elements, materials, pieces, all created with the care just passion and perfectionism give.
I must confess that I even Dream pieces, my muses work all day... and all night, and every day at the studio is an adventure.
I have no formal arts education, (my college education was... Laws!!!) my work is primal, born inside first , are not from educators' voices in my mind telling me how it should be done, everything is experimentation and fun and dusty clothes and a burn here and there.
How my work "happens"... never draw a piece, I just start collecting beads, materials and on the bench seem to be alive, tell me what they want to be. I don't Pre-design, reason why I don't do custom work, I'm totally free and while music floats everywhere and lavender aromas seem to wrap around... I "play". That is why I call my pieces "toyz" as a child would pronounce... because they are, are toyz for grown ups, elements to role play, to feel a wild been, an nonconformist, a defiant creature. Be warned, my Toyz chose You and now all the way around, every piece has its drop of magic, every moment when they are being created is hiding into their texture, like talismans of passion, of fire, peace, laughter. Because they are made For You, always are... and it is and always will be One in the world, they are One of a Kind.
This is Me but is also You, We are the Rebels, we are a rare breed.
