Inspiration happens in a lot of different forms, sometimes it is sightseeing, sometimes it is a movie, sometimes it is a song... I spent one of the nights taking care of my bigger half, -husband- watching a documentary about Frida Kahlo, her art, her life, her way to love and the turbulent feeling of her paintings called me for a humble, small piece inspired by her journey, the colorful paintings, her culture.
With the color of papayas, the raw Mexican fire agate, -as is in nature- played the role of contrasts with the flower carved serpentine stone beads that also act as a hair piece for the skull as in some of the Dia de los Muertos figurines. A green raw Kyanite blade added more of that organic, selvatic feel and two fire opal stones included fire in it, her life's fire. 
A Night with Frida, has a delicate size, intense but not overbearing colors, and is vibrant, with the zest of Mexico and the memories of this amazing artist. All in solid Sterling with a mild oxidation, it casps with a large lobster clasp that can be replaced for other style if needed. 
The pictures show the bracelet aside from a common ruler, a quarter coin and on my wrist to add an idea of real size, no, no diet coke can this time, this doesn't fit, it is for a smaller wrist.
It measures 7 3/4. It could be reduced a bit by removing one of the carved Serpentine rose beads.
