Talismanic with ancient patina style and looks, Ancient Pendulum is a quite interesting piece. The stone seems to be obsidian with mate finish but I'm not sure, te patina was created burying it during almost a year exposed to rain, cold, heat, irrigation water and nature itself and has Not been sealed, I imagine that a metal brush could remove it if desired but if you refer a shiny clean stone maybe this is not really for you. (You can seal it if you want, I add not sealing products since some people can have allergy to that)
Set in copper and nickel silver, has accents in worn aged leather, old cotton thread from some old beads strand, a small polymer translucent with writing and a nickel silver decayed "coin" I made myself. The patina doesn't "rub off" if you touch it, it seems to be salts acumulation from the soil, irrigation, etc. I worked with it, manipulated it, etc. and the age patina is intact.
One of a kind, out of the ordinary, one will not find anything alike -few people might have a year's patience to unearth a stone growing patina- with Long time in the making to look like it is today... It can create amazing pieces with the right elements, ancient look beads, rustic hammered stone, aged leather, etc. and even be amazing as is on a bold chain.
It measures no counting the dangles nor floating bail, but just the stone with its setting: 3 1/4 inches long 51 x 30mm approx.
