Human Nature. Sterling, Shibuichi, post earrings

$80.00Price

I really enjoy sand casting this diminute humans, the challenge, the surprise when from charred "clay" the forms emerge and I can "discover" them. Yes, are trial and errors, yes, not all days are good casting days. The bad days I set the materials aside and do something else or take a jewelry break, but the good days are oh wow, fun, feel acomplished and even touched by magic.

This couple has been made ex-profeso in a different shade of Shibuichi, an ancient Japanese traditional alloy that mixes silver and other metals and was used to create adornments for their Katanas.

Asymmetrical they share the stone and the setting style and both have a human form -anatomically correct, that it means you can see some private parts- and even when the bodies are Shibuichi, all the other parts, including the posts, are solid Sterling. The stones where with me for... wow, maybe 8 years or 10 years -Yeah, I collect and save and treasure and... hoard?- and I can't remember which kind are exactly, anyway look like some form of sea sediment or some other natural sedimentary stone with a turquoise like palette.

The pictures show the earrings on a real human size mannequin, aside a standard business card, a quarter coin and a regular steel ruler to give you an idea of their size.
