Obsession- Sterling

It is hard to decribe an obsession...

Made in solid Sterling and with shapes created one by one in carved tufa stone as ancient American Indians and joined together in a fused/soldered combination until the "idea", that obsession was finally satisfied and designed with that particular Conch shell eroded discs probably from Nagaland or Tibet, "Obsession" was sitting in a corer of my mind until eventually could make it happen. I wanted it this way and in no other way, so, carving the stone as a mold where to pour molten silver was a journey of trial and error. The discs HAD to sit on top. Sit and... stay. And they will, not just because the holes where rimmed until fit perfectly but also bvecause I used what is said to be the strongest glues in the world, a form of primal epoxy.

Its talismanic forms create a whole where a breeze of symetry was obtained with a lose disc dangling on a side anyway most of it is asymmetrical but cohesive. The focal is one solid sculptural piece and just the neck area is articulated.

A solitaire disc at a side on the neck piece adds a bit of dramatism and the assymetrical concept, while the links, made in solid sterling add volume but also strength. It clasps at a side making it more comfortable -to me at least- and its looks and boldness with the crude look of raw Sterling in contrast with the nature eroded conch shell discs create an intense dramatic effect that can work day or night no matter what.

I can't describe the "style" even when we could call it brutalist, most of what I make has not a defined label since it doesn't copy or follow any style or norm. Ancient modernist? Prehistoric Urban? Organic Alien? Some day I might have to ask you which style you think my work fits in, I'm really curious about that.

It measures around the neck approx. 19 1/2 inches.

The pictures where the piece rests on the bust show how bold it is, how it sits on the neck and could look on You since it is a real human size mannequin.

If you need it reduced or extended please ask me Before because depending of the lenght might not be doable, the links where made just for this piece and make just one that perfectly fits must not be as easy as it sounds, and reducing is about the same since I would have to recreate a link but in smaller size.
