I'm a huge fan of compositions created with individual pendants and usually seen in base metals or polymers so I decided to create some in Sterling time ago, now I came back to them, the style, boldness, I really like them... . Fabricating a fine metal piece of this kind is as rewarding as challenging since the weights balance has to be perfect. One perforation too low or too high, a connector too tall and the pendants don't keep a form when wearing it but rotate or get elevated compared with the other parts, one piece too heavy and the lighter would not keep the line since this is articulated, not set on an unique curved wire.
A work of love and passion but also a work of patience and equilibrium and wonders in the fossil real pieces that form it. From an armadillo fossil piece, real volcanic lava, an orthoceras, fossil ray spike to one of a kind elements in sterling and the beads working as companion, some vintage -I think Indonesian- banded black glass beads and a solitaire African spindle, all set in sterling. Every little piece.
Pieces like this are very hard to find on the market and when found their art based price can make them extremely expensive -close or more than $$$$
