Sea Salt
The salty taste on the lips, the wind that smells like oceans on my hair, broken shells under my feet, this is what I feel, think of when I work on some pieces.
This one has "beads" that are one of a kind -anyway I have some Few more- that I made personally drilling and semi polishing, removing edges and softening old natural coral branches, playing with their form to combine them in a way that felt right. Small natural pearls play with the ways to connect them, to join them leaving no spaces where the sterling wire that keeps them is visible, some of this pearls go into crevices like hiding, filling forms, others play as a joint where the coral articulates and has movement. Some large Sterling sliders add a touch of silver shine and modernist look while large blue Fluorite faceted beads bring waves and sky. Just Few "polite" coral round beads sneaked into it breaking the wilderness as few faceted gemmy fluorite hand cut and faceted polished beads end the piece finished with solid Sterling chain and clasp. It is a lot of work in this piece, different than working with regular beads, this had been created with this purpose and except for the ones I have left, they are the only ones in the world.
Voluptuous but delicate, bold but with sun on it and full of light, this piece is somethig unique.
The pictures where the piece rests on te bust show you its actual size, how bold, how it rests on the neck and how it would look on you since it is a real human size mannequin.
Almost 19 inches
